Over the years Venture Steel has emerged as a leading flat-rolled metal processor and distributor focused upon providing industry-best service in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.


Since our inception, Venture Steel has continually grown and diversified both organically as well as through acquisition. Starting with a single slitter and a demanding automotive customer base, Venture Steel has become the value added processor and distributor of choice for all of your steel and aluminum requirements. Today, we have 8 Slitters, 3 Cut-to-Length lines, and locations across North America. An intense service culture, combined with modern processing equipment and our proprietary SSCM software platform, enable us to provide not only industry-best service but also visibility on order status for every customer, every time. Our customer base spans the full array of end use markets.

TONY KAFATO

PRESIDENT

Tony has a reputation for building strong, cohesive, customer-focused service organizations. He is a hands-on leader with expertise in all aspects of the business including Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Operations and Logistics. His attention to detail and enthusiasm for the business combined with a comprehensive knowledge of North American metal producers and end use markets has aided him in achieving a proven track record of success. READ MORE Tony has over 25 years of experience in the metals distribution business. His career in metals began in 1989 as a Sales intern student at Dofasco, known today as Arcelor Mittal Dofasco. Upon graduation from university in 1989, Tony formally entered the service centre industry where he spent 11 years with increasing levels of responsibility in both Sales and Purchasing. In 2000, Tony joined Samuel, Son & Co. Limited as Vice President and General Manager of the Automotive Division. Tony spent 11 years with Samuel, where he broadened his knowledge base and earned increasing levels of responsibility becoming President of their Ontario Service Centre Group and serving as a member of their Corporate Advisory Board. In 2011, Tony joined Venture Steel Inc. as President. He is passionate about delivering a sound value proposition to every customer, supplier, and Venture Steel stakeholder. GARY FISHER

CFO

Gary joined Venture Steel Inc in 2016 with over 28 years of previous metal service centre experience. His prior experience was in the public accounting, consulting and automotive OEM industries. He has performed various roles in finance, accounting, administration, human resources, pensions, benefits, IT, credit, sales and operational support. SCOTT WOODLAND

VICE PRESIDENT SALES CANADA

Scott Woodland joined Venture Steel Inc. in 2012. He has over 17 years of experience in the steel industry, spanning all aspects of the manufacturing and distribution process. His first 7 years were with a producing mill, Arcelor Mittal Dofasco, and later a specialty strip re-roller. The last 10 years of his career have been spent in the metals distribution business, specifically the flat rolled service center sector. CLAUDIO CORTINA

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Claudio Cortina joined Venture Steel Inc. 2010 with over 20 years of metals distribution experience. His career began at Samuel, Son & Co. where he spent 16 years in roles with increasing levels of responsibility in quality, sales, and ultimately in an operations management role. His strong work ethic and leadership skills have enabled Claudio to progress within the Venture Steel management team, earning a promotion to Director of Operations in Fall 2013. Claudio has developed the operations team with a focus on lean manufacturing and a culture of best practice sharing to enable Venture Steel to operate all facilities to world-class standards. STEFANO GIACOBONI

PURCHASING MANAGER


Stefano Giacoboni joined Venture Steel Inc. in 2013. He has over 22 years of steel industry experience spanning both recycling and distribution sectors. Stefano spent the first Seven years of his career with Intermetco and then Cold Metal Products in various financial management roles. He then moved to Samuel, Son & Co., where he spent 12 years in purchasing roles of increasing responsibility before joining Venture Steel as Manager of their Purchasing group. ROB CUCE

VICE PRESIDENT SALES MEXICO & USA

Rob Cuce joined Venture Steel Inc. in 2010. He has over 20 years of steel industry experience spanning the steel parts manufacturing, processing, and distribution sectors. Rob spent his first 6 years as a process engineer at Greening Donald, where he later became a quality manager. READ MORERob then moved into the steel distribution business joining Namasco where he held positions with increasing levels of responsibility moving from Quality Manager through to Sales roles and later Marketing Manager. In 2010, Rob moved to Venture Steel to head sales efforts for USA and Mexico. Rob's varied experiences at both the mill and consumer level allow Venture Steel to understand both the supply and demand aspects of the business ensuring all stakeholder requirements are met. He prides himself on developing a service cultured and growth oriented team, which has enabled Venture Steel to succeed in developing new markets. As a member of the senior leadership team, Kevin’s role as the HR Director at Venture Steel is an important one as it involves all aspects of the ‘people’ side of the equation; what differentiates Venture Steel from its competitors. Matalco Inc.

Matalco Inc. is a leading producer of 6000 series extrusion grade aluminum billet manufactured primarily from scrap aluminum. Matalco has two plants strategically located in Brampton, Ontario and Canton, Ohio to serve our North American customers, with a combined annual capacity to produce 320 million lbs of prime quality billet for sale to the extrusion industry. The infeed material consists of scrap aluminum from Triple M Metal and press scrap on a tolling arrangement with extrusion customers. Employing the latest technology with significantly reduced melt loss gives Matalco a competitive advantage in its market. Matalco Inc. is ISO 9001 and 14001 certified.

From very modest beginnings, Triple M Metal has grown to be Canada's leading metal recycling company with operations in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Europe. The company also ships significant volumes of product to the Far East and Asia. Riverstone Golf & Country Club

Riverstone Golf & Country Club, located in Brampton, Ontario, is home to a challenging nine hole, par thirty-five golf course that winds through the picturesque West Humber River. The facility also includes an Executive nine hole golf course. Riverstone Golf & Country Club covers all amenities from health and fitness (fully equipped gym and squash courts), culturally inspired dining at our Bistro, and event hosting.
